Let me first say I have been blessed with a love for reading passed down from my dear grandmother, to my own mom and now to me. We pass books between the three of us, recommending this, not recommending that. We have been known to start and finish a book in a mere day. If you too have the enchanting ability to get lost in a good book, you know what I mean when I say there is something about being so caught up in a story it is all you think about for weeks, sometimes months.
I first discovered Nicholas Sparks when I opened the pages of The Notebook during a workout at the gym. Lets just say that is the longest I have ever been known to stay on an elliptical. I wonder what everyone else thought as I sweated through the tears, unable to choke back the emotion I felt as this love story came to a close. Oh, I remember it like it was just yesterday. I found myself obsessively searching for each of his collection of (then) twelve books. Slowly but surely I was able to complete that search and I now proudly display them on a shelf in our living room. No question about it, he simply has a way of writing beautiful and timeless masterpieces over. and over. and over again.
Imagine my excitement when I popped onto his website the other day to see that not only does he have a new book coming out, The Lucky One, (due to be released September 30) BUT one of my favorites of his, Nights in Rodanthe is finally due in theaters September 26! Oh I absolutely can not wait! So here is to another fall - filled with cooler weather, yummy smells of the season, and N. Sparks. Cheers!
