Answered prayer!

by Angie on July 24, 2008

Thank you to all of our friends and family who have kept our Luke in your prayers. Finally after 6 blood draws, his bili levels are going down… ever so slowly… but going down none-the-less. His Dr was pleased and says it can take weeks for the #s to return to normal range. He still looks a bit yellow, but is the cutest yellow thing you have ever seen. Justin and I are loving seeing his little face take shape and can’t give him enough kisses and loves.

He was born with a “tied tongue” and although he nurses well it is incredibly painful for me, so we are having it clipped (hopefully soon!). The sooner, the better, for all of us. This is a relatively easy and quick procedure, we are just waiting to hear from the surgeon to schedule our appt. His poor tongue doesn’t get any farther than his bottom gum so we are hoping after this he’ll be able to hang on tighter to that precious binky we are so thankful for ; )

Oh, and in true Warren baby fashion - he is growing like a weed. Up 10 oz since Sunday bringing him to a whopping 8lb 4oz, nearly as big as his brother was at birth.

Thank you Jesus for this huge answer to prayer!

My daughter too was tongue-tied when born. At 20 wks we were told that she was to be down syndrome…after lots of ultrasounds and lots and lots of praying we were confident that she was just perfect. When born she was tongue tied and that is the only thing that can lead them to the downs test being positive. I too tried to nurse but had a hard time with it. She was a very hard baby to feed in general even with a bottle so my point to this all is get it clipped as soon as possible cuz it was like a miracle happened. It was a complete turnaround and was so much less stressful :) All in all, keep your head up and pray to get you through until the clip. P.S. the surgery went very well for her and only took about 5 minutes so what a relief for a new mom :)
