God bless her.

What do these two things have in common? Oh, let me tell you. Got a call this morning from my mother-in-law informing us she was on her way - to clean our house! Better yet she said “How does a Cherry Lime-Aid sound?” (she remembered how I’m craving these and the closest Sonic is 45 minutes away, near their house.) So today, not only did I get a sparkling clean house (I had forgotten what it looked like clean!) BUT also a delicious giant cherry treat. God bless her.

So Danny drew this photo of Baby Jack (Who might I mention, will soon outgrow his sweet nick-name as he is nearing his 1st birthday! Can not believe he is nearly 1!) I of course,
had to do a side by side comparison. Looks a lot like Jack Jack, now doesn’t it?

Yes Lois, I did take a photo of the piece of art before we brought it to you today.
Do you expect any different from me? ;)

Testing 1, 2, 3.

It seems as soon as I decide to choose joy in my life - I am being tested. Issues with Safeway’s grocery delivery service, intense cramping, and a very discouraging appointment this morning with a midwife (my Dr is out of town). I refuse however to allow it to get me down, and am trying to keep a positive attitude. Good news is - there is an end in sight! Well, obviously there is [delivery] but with all this pain I am dealing with it seems SO far off! So in just 28 days I will be officially off “restrictions/modified bed rest”. At that point it will finally be ok to have contractions. So, let the countdown begin!

Week 31.

Photobucket

week: thirty-one.
current craving(s): ice cold water & crushed ice.
rant: contractions are wearing me down.
rave: LOVE my new snoogle! (pregnancy body pillow)
justin describes me this week as: psycho (gotta love the honesty) :)
goal(s): start re-reading Babywise & work on Luke’s blanket!

Choosing joy.

Photobucket I woke up bright and early this morning to a little tiny voice singing just inches from my face “You are my sun-sine… my onee sun-sine…” We walked out to make breakfast and the sun was peaking through the curtains. I felt totally and completely renewed. For weeks I have been sulking in the misery of my new ‘couch life’ and the things I am missing out on, the weight that piles on, the limited things I can do with Danny. I think about how far I have to go until Luke is here, yet at the same time worrying he’ll make too early an appearance. Basically my life has been full of anxiety and ‘the blues’ and I am tired of it. I am tired of the person I feel I have become in this recent change. I have decided to - choose joy. I have decided to focus on the truly important things: my faith and my family. Regardless of the circumstances, I will choose joy. Soon this little boy will be here, our lives will undergo yet another change, and again, we will adjust and enjoy and live and laugh and love. I can’t wait.

Blessed.

There is nothing better for me, than to sit here on this beautiful late spring evening - with the sounds of pure joy coming from the backyard. It truly is the highlight of Danny’s day when daddy gets home and plays with him. This evening started with some treasure digging in the back yard and has recently turned to playing “guns” inside the Little Tikes playhouse. Mind you, Justin will probably kill me for the little white lie I told earlier “Oh don’t worry babe, I’m only taking photos of Danny.” (I am pretty sure he doesn’t believe this anymore). The photos themselves are not the greatest in composition - but the memory holds far greater importance to me. If I haven’t said it before - I’ll say it again… Danny has been blessed with an absolutely amazing daddy, and I can’t wait to welcome another little “him” into the family.

“I love you daddy, you my best driend.” -Danny

10 reasons I smiled this week…

1. This face, isn’t it adorable?

2. The pre-natal massage I booked for next weekend!

3. Getting down to the wire - single digit weeks left until we meet Luke!

4. The two gift cards I received/spent right away from two very sweet friends.

5. Our yummy dinner Wednesday provided by one of those generous pals.

6. The batch of groceries delivered to my house AND unloaded for me, awesome.

7. Seeing an amazing Derek/Merideth moment on Grey’s Thursday.

8. The five loads of laundry my husband did.

9. Watching David Cook win American Idol.

10. My new best friend, the snoogle.

Prep.

Someone new is at our house, do you know who it is?

It’s our baby, I’m a big brother now!

So far, so good!

Baby Luke’s room is slowly coming together. Minus the crib that still needs to be put together - we are getting somewhere! I love it so far, it feels so soft and comfy in there : )
Can’t wait to put a teensy baby in it!
