Pregnancy randomness.

So today marks a big milestone - we are officially in the 3rd trimester! Yipee! just 10 more weeks until Luke is considered “full term”. All of the sudden it seems so close. All of the sudden I can’t sleep and feel like crap. All of the sudden I am really, really, really stressed about the lack of preparation.

Braxton Hicks are still a beast. I think I did too much over the weekend and am now suffering. So today, we sit, and I drink water, and we sit, and I drink water. Danny loves it because it means lots of Scooby-doo watching : )

So some good friends have offered to throw me a shower, isn’t that sweet? I am a firm believer that every baby should be ‘celebrated’ but wasn’t sure if you ‘celebrate’ your second boy. As it turns out, you do! When Jaime asked me to start registering I sort of laughed thinking oh we don’t need anything. We have seven, yes seven bins of boy clothes in the garage so we certainly don’t need ANYMORE of those. However I started thinking about some of the more important things we actually don’t have - car seat, stroller etc. I told her I would just start a little registry here on our blog. Little turned into bigger and soon I found myself drooling over so many “fun things” I didn’t have with Danny. So there you have it. A few essentials and then a few more things I simply must have. When oh when will that tax money come? : )

Soft & Sweet.

Just picked these yummy pieces of fabric up for Luke’s room.
They are so soft and so fabulous - I can’t wait to get started!

Just got back from a fabulous night out with some amazing ladies. It isn’t easy to get seven moms out of the house on the same night - but we did it! Joyce, Jannine, Tara, Jackie, Kate & Laura. Six wonderful, encouraging and fun girls -all with incredible talents and great advice to share. MOPS has been such a big part of my life these past two years, I have so enjoyed being in leadership and look forward to another five years with this great group. There really is something about being able to come together twice a month, and feel surrounded by so much love and support. A room full of women who are all either going through the ups and downs of mothering little ones, or have been there done that. Our table this year has been such a blessing and it has been so much fun getting to know each of them. Thanks girls for a great night out, I sure needed it! : )

A boy.

Between the innocence of babyhood and the dignity of manhood,
we find the delightful creature of a boy. - Author Unknown

As I sit here, “resting” I can not help but reflect upon things important to me. Obviously my faith, my husband and son(s), my passions. Today however, some friends brought up a topic that made my mind turn immediately towards my sisters. I can not say enough about the bond that is between us, and hope that my boys will someday share their own sense of strength from one another - all be it a different kind.

Sadie and Abby both came into my life as my sisters, if by blood or by choice. Each of them has brought something to our family that is priceless and without measure. It has been years since we have shared the same roof, yet I admire and love each of them for the adversities they have and are overcoming. They are both beautiful, loving and oh so funny. I think back to our vacation last summer to Florida - oh my gosh we had fun. Five of us doing yoga in a cramped space, Sadie’s white “bikini”, Abby’s never ending back rubs. The drive down, oh how lovely, all the songs about AM, the three of us in one bed. The scent of coconut fills the air and I am taken back there, to those moments, our first family vacation in many, many years. These girls are my heart and sole. They bring so much to my life and I can not wait to see who they become as adults.

Sade & Ab - I so look forward to seeing you in a few months. I love and miss you from here to the moon, and back. Kisses, Ang.

Docs Orders.

So after a trip to Labor & Delivery yesterday and a follow up appt today - I am under strict orders to take it easy: “Pelvic Rest”, no exercising or exerting myself, and generally keeping my feet up. If you have ever had Braxton Hicks Contractions you know how annoying and uncomfortable they can be. Imagine having them every 5-15 minutes, regardless of rest or water consumption - sheesh! Good news is, Luke is just as active as ever, and his heart rate was steady in the 130s / 140s yesterday during the non-stress test. In fact, the Dr. commented that Luke’s readings are those of a 30 weeker, instead of the mere 26 weeks he is. I guess our little guy is already ahead of the game, ha ha. These orders are intact for the next 3.5 weeks -until my next appt… so till then we just pray that the BH do nothing to my cervix and Baby Luke can cook, cook, cook for the next 3 months! We appreciate your prayers as well : )

Just when you think you can trust them.

You look up to see this…

Yes that would be toothpaste. Later on I would come to find it on his tummy, arms, and even the toilet. When asked how this happened he replied: “Me do it all myself!”. Indeed he did.

Double digits!

This is an exciting day… I just realized I am down to the double digits.

99 days to go until the arrival of Danny’s baby brother!

Negative pregnancy stats thus far:

-Can’t see my feet.

-Can’t bend over.

-Can’t sleep.

-Heat is coming and I have no dresses.

-3 people at Safeway in one week asked if I was due any day, grrrr.

-Hormones are RAGING, I have no filter, and everything annoys me.

-Baby’s room is no where near ready, have no hardware for the crib, don’t even have the energy to work on it : (

Positive pregnancy stats thus far:

-I think I passed the dreaded GD test with a whopping 90. Woo hoo!

-It isn’t going to be hot today.

-Totally off morning sickness meds, praise the Lord!

-Luke is moving all the time and I love it.

-Shower is coming up, thanks to my dear friends who offered to throw it for us!

-Scheduled hospital tour, yikes, already?!?

-A dear sweet lady at MOPS the other day told me “Honey you don’t look that big”, sigh and smile.

It has begun.

Softball that is. With it being such a big part of our lives and a true highlight to Danny’s week (going to see daddy, Uncle Curt, Uncle Chris and all the guys play), I decided to post some highlights from their first game. Danny had a blast playing in the dirt and cheering on the team. He loves all those guys and shows his affection by blows to their legs, stomachs, and anywhere else his little fist can reach - and they are all so good with him. I love seeing the affection they have for their littlest fan. Then there is me. Giant pregnant lady with camera - watch out! Oh well, they should be used to it by now right?? : )
