It is Thanksgiving and I must say how very thankful I am. As I
have been thinking ahead to this day, I have been compiling, [though
not a difficult task] a list of the things I am so very thankful for.
- My faith. As it continues to grow stronger, day by day, I find myself in awe of how amazing the Lord is - and how thankful I am to know Him.
- My husband. What can I say about Justin - he is so many things wrapped into this amazing package. He is strong when I am weak, he is laid back when I am uptight, he is the optimist when I am not… he is funny, sweet, caring, loving, and thoughtful. I am so thankful that the Lord has brought this man into my life.
- My sweet Danny boy. After dreaming of becoming a mother for as long as I can remember, December 5, 2004 would be a day I will forever hold in my memory. Since then, he has brought us laughter, happiness and the occasional frown line. I am thankful beyond words for the precious gift that our son is.
- My family. My family, which includes my own immediate family and Justin’s, have been nothing but loving and supportive. We are so blessed, beyond words to have a combined group of thirteen people who we love and care about so deeply.
- My friends. Each and every one of them in their own very unique way, encourage and uplift me to be a better person. I enjoy each of them so, and find myself constantly in awe of how truly lucky I am to have them in my life.
- Answered prayer. I can say nothing more than that the Lord answers prayer. He always, always does. I find myself bringing things to Him sometimes with a doubtful heart, yet no matter what, He is faithful and answers us.
Philippians 4:6,7 says…
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests by made known to God. And the
peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard
your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In the words of Danny… “Me go Baby Jack’s House?”
Danny absolutely LOVES going to play with little Jack, he brings him his toys, gently wipes the drool from his face, and is endless entertainment to this sweet baby. I am so looking forward this precious friendship developing as they grow.
Our little boy has become a master at the slide! He stands atop it looking down, concentrating on his strategy… Will he go down on his bottom or tummy? Will he go forwards or gasp, backwards?!? Will he send his cars down first or will they race to the bottom? The possibilities are endless when you are nearly three. It brings such joy to simply watch his imagination evolve. The play structure becomes a pirate ship, and the bark a swarm of angry-little boy-eating crocodiles! Oh the hours of play at the park, what would we do without them?
The three of us had a lovely day yesterday as we took BART to see an afternoon movie, then to get our family favorite for dinner - pizza! We had a wonderful time, enjoying the fun we can have in our own neck of the woods, doing the simplest and most rewarding of things - spending time together.

I can hardly fathom, as I’m sure some of you feel the same… that I’ve gone over a week without updating! Our lives have become somewhat busy as Danny and I have the privilege of watching “Baby Jack” during the week. We are adjusting nicely to our new routine, and Danny has been chomping at the bit to get back to Baby Jack’s all weekend! Oh boy, as I sit here, sleepy-eyed, trying to catch up on things as the weekend comes to a close, I can’t quite think of what all has been going on. Lets see, Danny took his first BART ride with Nana into Concord and absolutely loved it! Here’s to a $2 excursion, eh? Can’t get much better than that! He has been talking up a storm lately and is so looking forward to his Mickey Mouse Bday coming up. I can’t believe my baby will soon be three! It seems just yesterday Justin and I were walking the streets each night hoping for Danny’s arrival. Now we have a smart and entertaining little boy who just gets more adorable each day. The weather has finally begun to act as it should in November, and I am beyond thrilled! The sounds and smells of the holidays are finally upon us. Have a wonderful week my friends, and enjoy the season!

What a week we have had. Nana and Grampa have been visiting and spoiling Danny daily. He loves playing with them and is looking forward to riding the “choo choo” (BART) with them tomorrow! I have enjoyed the rest I have felt, there is nothing better than having your mom around to cook, clean, and entertain your toddler! Justin and I got to go out Tuesday, yipee! Thanks to Chris, we went to the first Warrior’s game of the season, and had so much fun. It was great to enjoy the game just the two of us!
Yesterday we went to The City, where Danny had a fabulous time watching the seals as they barked at one another. He especially liked to see them fight, and push each other into the water, telling us over and over again that is what he likes to do with daddy (wrestle). We had a yummy lunch on the Pier, did some shopping, and enjoyed the beautiful fall day it turned out to be!
Last night was quite eventful for Danny, his first ever Trick or Treating. We thought for sure that after he nearly ran away from the first house - we wouldn’t get much done. Sure enough, at the sight of candy filling his bucket, he eagerly marched on yelling “More TickerTreat!”. We had a blast watching him go, and came back to the house ready to help him out with the candy, wink wink.
Well, we are just enjoying the time we have with Nana and Grampa - and preparing for next week when our new routine starts up! Happy November everyone!
